ARA competitions are sanctioned by the American Rimfire Association.
ARA rimfire matches will be held on ten Tuesdays in 2026 (tentative):
ARA rimfire tournaments will be held on two Saturdays in 2026 (tentative):
The Tuesday matches are 2 targets. The Saturday tournaments are 6 targets.
Registration and practice shooting closes at 6:00 PM for the Tuesday matches, 8:30 AM for the Saturday tournaments. Shooting for record will start no later than 6:30 PM for the Tuesday matches, 9:00 AM for the Saturday tournaments.
A target is 25 record shots (plus unlimited sighters) in 20 minutes.
Shooting is at 50 yards.

For ARA, a junior is any youth who is age 7-17 on January 1 (rule 5.1).
There is no membership fee to join ARA, but you must have a (free) ARA Competitor ID# consisting of 4 numbers plus 2 or 3 initials (e.g., 1234ABC) that you use in every ARA competition. More information at I Want to Shoot ARA on the ARA website.
